Creative messiness

I adore the front page of Ilse Crawford's website - I love the 'messiness' of it all...
Just as I adore the creative messiness of this workspace...
...and the random placement of assorted treasures on these shelves...
I love that tiny little bird cage on the shelf - wish it was mine!
Whilst I aspire to creative messiness, deep down inside I know it will never happen because I'm such a neat freak. What about you - are you 'neat' or 'creatively messy'?

    I'm neat but I also love the first image - it says so much about who lives there. Good luck with your exam next week - hope all goes well! Leigh

    love it! shelves are the first place i gravitate to in every home. it's my favourite thing; ironically, we are yet to get some built at our place, but i dream of the day. x

    I have to be honest - this would drive me crazy. While I covet these wonderful books and objects, I would definitely add some order to the chaos. I do love a lived in space, but even this looks too busy for me! And all those wonderful objects get lost in the clutter - what amazing things in there.

    I am creatively messy but aspire to be neat... never seems to be enough time in the day to create something I love and then get rid of the mess! I do have to have one place in the house (usually the bedroom) that is as mess free as possible otherwise I go mad!

    Oh, Lee, I just LOVE you for posting these photos! I think you would definitely call me "creatively" messy - such a nice way of putting it. Unfortunately, it drives my husband crazy.

    I love the first picture - I wish I had the reckless abandon to let my spaces get like that! Unfortunately I'm a neat freak and would have to rearrange but I appreciate that look so much xxx

    I love Ilse Crawfor, her books are my bible! But I'm also a fan of Anita Kaushal.
    Anyway, I like organized messiness...hm, that sounds wierd. I'm a neat freak, but I don't mind mess -as long as it's not mine LOL.
