First up I'm going to pay a visit to Porgie and Mr Jones a.s.a.p...
And then maybe next on the agenda will be Mart 130 - it's located at a defunct tram stop/building in Middle Part. The name's pretty nifty too - it's tram spelt backwards, plus the old tram stop number 130. Anyway, having friends in the area, I have it from a very reliable source that they have great food & coffee at Mart 130...
And I'd really like to visit Von Haus too if I ever find myself in the city for breakfast. Really, I'd just love to visit this cafe to check out those gorgeous rustic walls first hand...
Moving on right along, there are a few cafes in the Healesville/Yarra Valley region (about an hour's drive from Melbourne) that I'd like to visit too...
Harvest Cafe in Healesville - I love the communal table and overhead ladder strung with glass bottles and sweet little flowers...
I think the wall colour at the Belle Vedere creates a really wonderful ambience...
And finally, the Sweetwater Cafe located at the Chateau Yering winery in the Yarra Valley. I've actually been here for lunch, but that's no reason that I can't go back and sample their breakfast menu too...
You can check out Breakfast Out's selection of Melbourne and Sydney breakfast cafes/restaurants right here.
And last but not least...don't forget to leave a comment on my 200th post so you can go into the draw for the very gorgeous 'Madison Living' book I have as a giveaway.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend filled with lots of good friends, fine food and great times!

They all look fabulous! What a great website you've found! I can't wait to hear your reviews!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the first one with the bricks and I've recently read a write-up of the cafe with the ceiling of chairs - apparently it is very good!
I love to go out for breakfast...i'd love to visit all of these places....lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteAhhh breakfast - my absolute favourite meal of the day! Lots of beauties here, will definitely give a couple a try when I'm over next doing my Mumsie checks on the 3 Melb. sons.

What absolutely wonderful places to go to for breakfast. They all look fantastic! Have a great weekend, Lee.
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious!
ReplyDeleteI miss the fabulous cafes in Melbourne and also the Sydney breakfast' on the weekends (I'm a Sydney girl).
Even though living in London is fab ... you can't find a decent coffee (well, except for Flat White in Soho ... which is run by an Aussie!)
Have a great weekend!
xx
ahh remember the days when eating breakfast out was a possibility = pre-kids! haha
ReplyDeleteOh Fabulous Lee
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which I like best.. i think the dark earthy tones of Von Haus.. too hard to decide, but whichever has the best bacon & eggs will win me over. Especially if they do breakfast ALL day! Those are my kind of cafes.
Lovely post and thanks for the link! Have a great weekend x Julie
Great link. I don't do breakfast much at the moment due to cycling husband and running around like lunatics children but .... maybe one day (maybe on a work day in the city) xoxo
ReplyDeleteWeekend breakfasts are my favourite! I will definitely refer to these guides next time I visit Melbourne and Sydney. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love going out for breakfast too! And these are my kind of places! If I'm ever in Melbourne, I want to have breakfast at every one of them!
