I actually have the 'Waesche Regen' tea towel, but I couldn't bring myself to use it to dry the dishes, so I stretched it over a canvas and it now sits on the very top shelf of my tiny little laundry (sorry the pic is so dull, but it was taken at night)...
Third Drawer Down works with well-known and up and coming artists to produce a wonderful range of textiles. And, they don't only sell tea towels. They also sell (both online and through a range of stockists) goodies like...
Handkerchiefs...
How cute is 'Wombats Big Sleep'??
Pillow slips...
Stationery...like these pear post-it notes:
This amazing graphite hand that you could use to draw/write with (but I think it's far too beautiful for that)...
This wonderful watch accessory tape...
And this very quirky banana guard...
As silly as it seems, I'd like to buy one of these just to see if the banana fits into it properly!!
Anyway, Third Drawer Down, 'a Museum of Art Souvenirs' (as self-described on their site), is a terrific small independent business. It's physically located at 93 George Street, Fitzroy, but they sell their wares through many other fine homewares shops around Australia (and probably further afield too for all I know).

well I think these teatowels are senbloodysational! I would def want to deck out my new kitchen with this teatowels, unfortunately at $40 bucks a pop, it may not be all at once! I'm thinking they would be TOO GOOD to wipe up the kids upchuck anyway, and perhaps need to go on a wall! great find Lee

ReplyDeletemy teatowels used to be in the 3rd drawer down, but now they are in the cupboard above my oven. strange i know, but I have all my food in my lower cupboards below the bench and all my crockery in my pantry.
It works for me.
