In the city the last week for a meeting I purposely took the long route to the client's building just so I could stroll through Degraves Lane. It has a lovely, slightly European feel to it, and it has some great cafes too (not that I had time to stop for a latte). This picture makes me think that Melbourne can be quite lovely in Winter (when it's not raining cats and dogs!!!).
Walking from my car to a cafe the other day I passed this very large, beautiful home and noticed that the gates were open, giving me a sneak peek inside this gorgeous traditional garden. Of course I just had to whip out my camera and take a snap - lots of lush plants, terracotta and stone pots, chequered tiles. What a lovely combination...
On yet another walk I spied this very old stone sign on a brick wall - it was actually pointing to nothing in particular! It made me stop and think about what originally was situated nearby that had made someone or rather erect this quaint little signpost. The building may not remain, but the little signpost has survived as a lovely historical marker...

Yes I love Degraves Lane. I have been inside that house!! It's amazing. Yay Melbourne long may these houses remain 'undemolished'.
Beautiful Lee. I love melbourne. Although I say that and have only been there twice, but both times memorable!
I like the little pointer also!
