Giveaway - Paris: Made By Hand

It's my birthday tomorrow and I figure that I shouldn't be the only one that gets the pressies (particularly at my age!!!). I'm a great fan of Pia Jane Bijkerk's blog - she's an amazing stylist and blogger, and so my dear blogging friends to celebrate my birthday I have a copy of Pia Jane Bijkerk's fabulous new little book, 'Paris: Made By Hand', to give away.

Here's what the publishers, The Little Bookroom, have to say about her book:

Stylist Pia Bijkerk has discovered more than 50 shops in Paris that embody the spirit of fait main and where you’ll find the most original and creative clothing, jewelry, handbags, ceramics, home furnishings, and decorative objects in Paris. Some are shops owned by professional chineurs, people who have an eye for the unique, who hunt out objects sought after by decorators, designers, and stylists.

To whet your appetite here are a few pages from the book courtesy of The Little Bookroom:

And here are a few gorgeous pics of some amazing vintage industrial furniture that is from Atelier 154, one of the 50 shops that is featured in the book...

So, if you'd like to be the proud owner of this gorgeous book all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me the one thing that you love most about Paris. I'll randomly pick a winner at 9.00am Monday morning (Melbourne time).
Images 1 - 4 are from The Little Bookroom; Images 5 - 8 are from Atelier 154.

I was a young university student the first time I made my way to Europe (I'm from Canada). When I reached Paris, I truly felt far from home... which is what I wanted in order to invoke that true bohemian feel. In Paris, no one seemed to care that I was there... and that was magical.

My fave thing about Paris is the architecture! I've never been to Paris but have been known to get lost there via Flickr! I love the flower shops too with the prices on chalkboards....ahhh

I always feel that Paris must have that special magical light that puts the simple, everyday things in a new light. How things that don't seem to go together just work beautifully

Bonne anniversaire, hope that you have a fabulous birthday. The book looks like a great read, one can simply not have too many books on anything french.

love about paris - how a baguette, some awesome wine and a hunk of cheese can be the best meal you've ever had.

Hey happy birthday Lee! I hope you are having a fabulour day and are getting spoilt!
How generous and lovely of you to being giving the present on your birthday!
I haven't been to Paris, yet, but I imagine that what I would love most about Paris would be the little streets - wandering down an ancient narrow streets, catching glimpses of the 'real' Paris and the Parisians who live there.

The one thing I love most about Paris is meandering along the old cobbled streets and boulevards and soaking in the atmosphere, art and architecture of this fabulous city. It's fantastic to spend a day walking around, to browse through the shops and markets, relax at a cafe or treat yourself to a delicious pattisserie along the way, it's just heaven.

Lee, I hope you had the best of birthdays & I'm sure your boys indulged & spoilt you to the max. How sweet to think of us on your special day - & yes, Paris is a truly awesome place. Rather than a specific love, I just adore the absolute confidence Parisians have about themselves & their world. It's like nothing I've ever experienced & ever so cool!

It's been years since I visited. The food definitely made an impression. I'm going back this summer (northern hemisphere ) and look forward to discovering some of the treasures in the book.
