Down to the wire

I'd like an old wire basket or tray for my desk. Nothing more, nothing less. Maybe something like pic #1 or pic #2. Now if I could only find one here in Melbourne (or at least Australia!)...

Hi Lee. I love all these, particularly pic #2. I like you looked in Aus... and ended up crossing the ocean to find mine at http://whiteflowerfarmhouse.blogspot.com/. Postage is a bugger... but OH SO worth it! Just sometimes you have to spoil oneself.

I am constantly on the lookout for these too! Totally frustrating when you know just what you want/need and then it isn't available over here. I think we all need an overseas shopping trip, and a large container in which to bring all our goodies back....

I agree - I love wire baskets. The other day I found a pair at an antique store, but they were so expensive I left them there! Guess I need to hit the flea markets...

I love wire baskets too. There's something just so rustic and country about them.

I hope you find one!

If you get a chance, come by my Blog for a visit and say hi!
Have a great weekend,

Hi Lee - Just stumbled across your blog it is really lovely. Have you searched 'etsy' for your wire baskets? I have seen quite a few listed by various sellers both Vintage and Handmade types. You may find what you are looking for there...Good luck!!

I love this post! Lee, maybe you should consider a career change - you seem to have quite an eye for interior design! (I changed from being a lawyer to a stylist so I know it can be done!!!). xx

hi Lee
Have actually just seen some nice wire baskets identical to no 2 in shape but made with chicken wire in Perfect Pieces - they are in High Street Prahran and also somewhere in Hawthorn maybe Auburn Road. They are very nice, not expensive. Perfect.
