Not so plain Plain English

Plain English "makes beautiful bespoke kitchens in London, Suffolk and Gloucestershire" (according to their site). I truly wish the site said they make beautiful bespoke kitchens in Melbourne, Australia. Here's just two examples why.

A London villa kitchen...

And a Chelsea studio kitchen...

For more examples of the gorgeous shaker style bespoke kitchens crafted by Plain English take a look at their site (much larger/clearer images).

I really love that blue kitchen... white always works but colour when done right is unbeatable.... maybe it's the start of the white backlash! We'll have orange and brown kitchens in 20 years and all be combing the shops for seventies cast offs - er, maybe not...?

Hi Lee. I'm not sure what happened though I wasn't getting your post updates then I checked blogger and for some reason I was no longer following you. Anyway, I've re-signed up and sorry I haven't been commenting though I didn't know you had new posts! I adore these kitchens. They are so big and airy. Love that powder blue colour of the first one and the simplistic nature of the second.

Lovely kitchens! I went to investigate further and the link (www.plaineenglish.co.uk) took me to somewhere not kitchen related. I think the link you need is http://www.plainenglishdesign.co.uk

I used to work for Plain English Cupboardmakers about 15 years ago. One of the best kitchens you could buy, no chipboard here! Lots of MDF mind you, for the panels, but a lot of hardwood too on the front framing and worktops etc. All shelves had a beech lipping when I worked for them. One of their workshops is about 10 miles from me.

My wife wants a new kitchen, with a 4 door dresser in this style, (but I will adapt the design so it would not be identical to theirs), so I have my work cut out.

The Farrow and Ball paint they use isn't cheap either. The smell of Linseed Oil when one is finished is lovely. One kitchen we did was 35,000 GBP in some big house somewhere!
